This was what my daughter said when watching some of the birds feeding in the backyard. Hearing this often, I immediately grab the camera and slowly go to one of the second story windows and begin surveying the trees. Simply observing the lack of activity an seeing the birds hide deep in the shrubs, I knew it was a predator and then I saw him.
An juvenile sharp shinned hawk, an occipter that eats smaller birds, this is is one unique raptor. Speed is incredible when observing him chasing his prey. Patience is another attribute as I have seen him sit motionless in the snow for hours until he sees what he wants and then in the blink of an eye, his is gone. Nature gives us such great rewards.
